West Coast Trim Works custom boat canvas and upholstery is focused on providing high-quality service and customer satisfaction. A small town cottage industry business doing what I love and making it affordable.
I will do everything I can to exceed your expectations.

With many years of training and experience in the boat canvas and upholstery trade, I am confident you'll be happy with the products and services I sell. Pride in workmanship, quality marine grade products, and attention to detail is what you can expect.

I got my start in the trade in 1983 at the age of 24.   I spent 16 months in a vocational school to learn the trade. Then jumped out into the field working for local trim shops honing my skills.  Growing up my father and my uncle were both craftsman in the trade. My Uncle had a successful Automotive upholstery business, along with a Boat canvas and upholstery business for many years until he sold out and retired. I have fond memories working after school at Hoglunds Top Shop as a shop helper, and would be amazed at the talent they had trimming out old cars. At 16 years of age my dad and I took my first car which was a old 1960 Ford Falcon 2 door wagon and brought her 144 straight 6 cylinder motor back to life. He restored the inside with a complete custom top stitched diamond black velvet interior. And I buffed the oxidized factory original paint to a show room finish. I was hooked! Back then at age 16 I new some day I would take this love for cars and turn it into a business too. In 1988 that became reality with the birth of my first sole proprietorship, Auto Craft Upholstery in the town of Edmonds Washington Eventually that same passion for cars transitioned over to Boat interiors and custom boat canvas covers and tops. Over the years I have developed my own style and techniques for boat top frame design and fabrication. All my Signature frames and canvas tops are designed and fabricated with many years of experience and attention to detail.
This year West Coast Trim Works enters its 9th year serving the local Portland Oregon boating community, a huge thank you and much appreciation too all who have put there trust in my skills.
